| This is an overview from the Street of the Deaths (miccaótli)
in Teotihuacán. This road, 43 meter width and 4 kilometer
long leads straight to the pyramid of the moon. The hill at
the right is the pyramid of the sun. Against the hill in the
background you can discover the pyramid of the moon. |
Dit is een overzicht van de Straat der Doden (miccaótli)
in Teotihuacán. Deze 4 kilometer lange, kaarsrechte ca 43
meter brede weg leid recht naar de piramide van de maan. De
heuvel rechts is de piramide van de zon. Tegen de heuvel in
de achtergrond kan men de piramide van de maan ontdekken.

PYRAMID OF THE SUN

Already from a far distance you can see this 63 meter high
pyramid. This pyramid, the biggest one in this areas is pyramid
of the Sun.
You see the big stairs leading to the top of the pyramid.
This 40 meter wide pyramid is located at the east side of
the 4 kilometers Street of the Deaths.
In the ancient Mexican belief the stair symbolize the stairs
of heaven.The sun and moon go up and down this heaven stairs
each day. |
Reeds van grote afstand is deze 63 meter hoge piramide te
bewonderen. Deze piramide, de grootste in dit gebied is de
piramide van de zon.
U ziet de lange trap die naar de top van de piramide leid.
Hij ligt aan de oostkant van de 4 km lane Straat der doden
en is 40 meter breed.
In het oude Mexicaaanse geloof symboliseerde de trap de hemeltrap.
De zon en maan gingen deze hemeltrap iedere dag op en neer. |

| When you climb this pyramid of the sun you have a wonderful
view over the area. You get an overview over the area with
many temples and other monuments. |
Na het beklimmen van deze piramide kan met het bijzonder
fraaie uitzicht bewonderen. Men krijgt zo een overzicht over
het gebied met diverse tempels en andere monumenten. |

PYRAMID OF THE MOON

| This smaller pyramid, located at the end of the Street of
the Death is the pyramid of the moon. The two big pyramids
of the sun and moon should be 2000 years old. The pyramid
of the moon is only 20 meter high. However the top of the
pyramids of the sun and moon are at the same level due to
the shape of the area. |
Deze kleinere piramide, gelegen aan het einde van de Straat
der Doden is de piramide van de maan. De twee grote piramides
van de zon en de maan zijn ongeveer 2000 jaar oud. De piramide
van de maan is slechts 20 meter hoog. De top van de piramide
van de zon en maan liggen echter op dezelfde hoogte door het
hoogteverschil van het landschap. |
