WALKING TO THE BASILICA

| Here you
see a big crowd walking towards the Basilica of Guadalupe in the
north of Mexico City. According the legend the virgin Maria has
appeared several times here to Juan Diego. As proof she left here
image at his cloths. |
Hier ziet
men een grote menigte naar de Baseliek van Guadalupe, in het noorden
van Mexico Stad, trekken. Volgens de legende is de maagd Maria in
1531 hier meerdere keren aan Juan Diego verschenen. Als bewijs heeft
zij een afbeelding op zijn kleed achtergelaten. |

you see the old Basilica. At the left is the new Basilica where
10.000 people can pay to the image of virgin Maria. The design is
from Pedro Ramírez Váscez, the architect of the Anthropologic Museum.
